BRONZE  SCULPTURE STUDIO

        The Last Supper has been a work in progress for a number of years. It is now to the stage  that it can be displayed on the internet and be made available for sale. Click on the above links of Christ and each Disciple to display scripture, historical information and photos. Photos will be added as each remaining piece is sculpted.

    I designed the sculpture from a scriptural standpoint. Christ and the Disciples are shown in a realistic manner with respect to portraiture as well as the placement of figures within a sculptural composition.

     The overall composition is a multi triad form with  groupings of figures based on interpersonal relationships that were established before following Christ, during the time with Christ and in the subsequent ministries. Several scholars have offered theories of  how the disciples were seated at the Supper. I chose a composition in keeping with scripture that is also pleasing to the viewer.

    In the above links I included scripture relevant to each Disciple. I added information from historical accounts about where it is believed each Disciple taught and traveled as well as the hardships they endured to spread the Gospel.  There are many variations in historical accounts and I am not trying to identify which is the most accurate nor am I trying to include them all. This selected information is  intended to add additional perspective.
